The Lost Art of A Greeting

Random Observation About Nothing #1

High on my list of annoyances are failing to acknowledge folks or over thinking an acknowledgement. I’m not sure what is more annoying; Someone looking down at their phone, looking at their watch, eyes down at their feet all to avoid making eye contact and part their lips to speak  or speaking to a woman and she receives it as an attempt to lay horizontally while making animal noises.

To help those that seem detached from common courtesy and in most cases common sense, I’ve included a list of ways to respond when you see folks that you interact with on a daily basis. I wouldn’t encourage these behaviors on the city streets.

Make Eye ContactSmile with your eyes

The Fabled Nod of AcknowledgementUp down or Down up, your choice

The ComplimentBe sincere, even if you have to fake it

The WaveWhatever you do be a man or woman about it, no transference

The SmileNothing is more inviting than a nice set of teeth & a warm mouth

Depending on someone.

I’m usually reserved when it comes to asking others for help. I don’t know why … the subject is probably the discussion for another post, so when I do ask it’s usually because I really need it. The problem for me looking for someone to “carry” me is that I always get dropped.

I like the fact that I have only a few that I can depend on, I dislike the fact that it’s only a few.

Talking to someone.

Here comes the introvert again. I really am energized by spending time with Mr.TramueL but there are times when I need /want conversation, no thank you to the celebrity gossip and no I don’t want Einstein’s theory of relativity. I appreciate a happy median. I know it’s time for me to find an outlet when my mama tells me after 15 minutes that she really has to go. I’m the DJ, they’re the rappers, they do all of the talking while I listen and produce the track. Always the DJ never the rapper.

I like that I have friends that can hold a conversation, I dislike that I have friends that can hold a conversation.

Listening to someone.

I don’t know what it is about me that make folk wanna open up and tell me all of their private times & the whole nine. In line at the grocery store, at the gas station, walking up the street  … I am a magnet. Muted but direct, give up conversation but don’t say nothing.

I like the fact that I’m able to impart my impractical wisdumb, I dislike the fact that it’s with total strangers.

Watching Good Times.

My schedule allows me to watch a little television in the mornings, rather than start the day with the news (depressing) or sports I choose to watch sitcoms or a network series. Good Times were anything but. 1ne episode in general has JJ looking to "wife" a teenage girl that was totally PG, not in a movie but like Mary was with Jesus. I would have like them to talk about protected sex and choices (adoption) rather than abortion right off the bat. There were a few other random TramueLism's that I observed, but that's all that I will write. The end.

I like the messages that the writers execute on the show, I dislike the messages that the writers execute on the show.

Working for someone.

I’m happy to be (RE)gainfully employed however there are far better ways to make a living than indentured servitude.

I like the fact that I am able to exist. I dislike the fact that I am only able to exist.

The Week of The Observer

I’ve been extremely busy working full time, part time and trying to establish TramueL Consulting {Controlled Emotional Response}  add the stress & shade from starting a new job {the full time position} but that’s not the point. All of that to say sorry I haven’t been commenting & providing my intelligently hedonistic thoughts all up on your page. I’ve even neglected my standard bi-weekly post.

… any who I felt compelled to share my observations because I’ve been receiving the same message delivered in different formats. I guess that means I should share …

Personal Conversation

“I’m not looking” “I’m going to focus on me and mine” “Relationships are too complicated”

Why do we reinvent ourselves when a relationship begins? We buy new drawz, shave {for men beards, for women … never mind} fix our hair, hide relatives sometimes kids Chris Rock quote: “We send our representative” Men lie about resources, women lie about what they want. Science proves it. Class.

Why do we reinvent ourselves when a relationship ends? We eat better, start exercising, buying new things “in with the new, out with the old” right? Eat right. Feel good. Look great. New friend. Complacency. Repeat. The end.

Do As I Say Not As I Do

Do those things while you are in a relationship, encourage each other, support each other. Why won’t you be great together? Hold each other accountable … just a thought.

Resist vs. Don’t Resist

Resist: "You got to Love God enough to resist what isn’t of God. Resist means to say something about it. To say No. To stand without compromising yourself, without compromising your integrity. To Love God enough means to be God’s friend, to be like a child. To go to battle as a warrior! Heart battle. Out of love, never out of pride."

Don’t Resist: "To wait and see. To never answer an unwise person, to never try to bring correction on a hurt, tormented, or angry fellow, peer, stranger, co-worker. It means to stay and do your best, even to give your other cheek…ouch! All with the expectation of letting the matter where it is, no where your pride want to go. Guts to be humble and recognize that we all are humans, the Supernatural is God in us…if we let Him."

Always inspiring ...

Random Thoughts at a Traffic Light

I’m getting the hang of posting from my cell phone via e-mail. The title suggest that I’m texting while driving, however I was safely pulled over at the time of this writing. I mean to have done so would not have been prudent, not at that juncture.

Random Observations  About Nothing & Everything

I thought about a conversation I had with a “Princess” at work the other night, she is a very attractive twenty something who has caught the attention of an older gentleman whom she has no interest. Her words: “Man, he’s about your age!” *Ouch* “He sent me a text at 6ix a.m. … I’ma need him to not be thinking about me that early.” I responded with uncontrollable laughter. Maybe you had to be there.

Small Businesses are suffering during these trying economic times. I could choose which dry-cleaner to drop clothes off, now it seems they’ve all but disappeared. The 2wo near my home, the 1ne near my barbershop. Null.

There seems to be a switch in the number of sustainable relationships among some of my non-love relationships: family, work and friends. Maybe during the summer people don’t wanna be attached? Anywho … I’ve notice that the stages after an initial break up never seem to vary from the script: At first there is the realization,  actual realization, denial and bitterness before they move on. Right now everyone is holding in the actual realization phase. I can’t wait for what unfolds in the bitterness stage! Somebody might come up missing! {Yep. A.W. & C.C. I’m talking ‘bout ya’ll}

I thought about a meeting the other day and the facilitator was yielding a mighty weapon. Im’a need you to know the difference between ask and axe.
